Pharmacology of Topiclo 60 ml Lotion
Clobetasol Propionate is a topical corticosteroid with a high potency. It works as an anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and vasoconstrictor. It also inhibits arachidonic acid metabolism and decreases cytokine production.

Side Effects of Topiclo 60 ml Lotion
As with other corticosteroids, prolonged use in large quantities or treatment of broad areas can result in enough systemic absorption to cause hypercortisolism. This impact is more likely in infants and youngsters, as well as when occlusive bandages are utilized. After a long period of treatment, local atrophy may ensue. In rare cases, corticosteroid treatment for psoriasis (or its discontinuation) is suspected to have triggered the pustular form of the illness. If symptoms of hypersensitivity emerge while using Clobetasol Propionate Scalp Solution, discontinue use immediately.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Corticosteroids used topically to pregnant animals can cause foetal development problems. Although the applicability of this discovery to humans has yet to be determined, topical steroids should not be used extensively in pregnancy, i.e. in significant dosages for lengthy periods of time. Clobetasol Propionate has not been proven to be safe during lactation.
Precautions & Warnings
It’s important to keep the preparation out of your eyes. Adrenal suppression can occur even without blockage, hence long-term continuous therapy with Clobetasol Propionate scalp solution should be avoided wherever feasible, especially in infants and toddlers. Rebound relapses, tolerance development, the danger of generalized pustular psoriasis, and the development of local or systemic toxicity due to reduced skin barrier function are all potential risks of topical corticosteroids in psoriasis. When treating psoriasis, it’s critical to keep a close eye on the patient.Appropriate antimicrobial therapy should be used whenever treating inflammatory lesions which have become infected. Any spread of infection requires withdrawal of topical corticosteroid therapy and systemic administration of antimicrobial agents. Bacterial infection is encouraged by the warm, moist conditions induced by occlusive dressings, and so the skin should be cleansed before a fresh dressing is applied.
