Indications
Levocetirizine is used to treat the symptoms of allergic diseases such as permanent allergic rhinitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Pharmacology
Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride is included in this formulation. The active (Levo) isomer of cetirizine is levocetirizine. It is a novel nonsedating antihistamine with powerful antiallergic characteristics that is extremely effective and well tolerated. It has double the affinity for H1 receptors as cetirizine. Levocetirizine has a fast and long-acting mechanism, allowing for once-daily dosing.

Adults and children 12 years of age and older: The recommended dose is 5 mg once daily.
Children 6 to 11 years of age: The recommended dose is 2.5 mg (1/2 tablet or 1 teaspoon oral solution) once daily.
Children 6 months to 5 years of age: The recommended dose is 1.25 mg (1/2 teaspoon oral solution) once daily.

Contraindications

Side Effects
Levocetirizine is generally well tolerated. A few adverse effects, including headache, dry mouth, tiredness, and skin rash, have been recorded seldom.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Category B Pregnancy. In pregnant women, there are no appropriate and well-controlled trials.
