Description
Generic
White soft paraffin + Liquid paraffin + Wool alcohol
Indications
The combination of white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, and wool alcohol eye ointment is suggested for dry eye conditions and is especially beneficial at night since it stays in the eye longer than drops. In situations including exposure keratitis, reduced corneal sensitivity, recurrent corneal erosions, keratitis sicca, and ophthalmic surgery, it’s utilized as an adjuvant therapy to lubricate and protect the eye.
Pharmacology
The combination of white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, and wool alcohol eye ointment forms a clear, lubricating, and moistening layer on the eyeball’s surface. Dry eye ointment with white soft paraffin, liquid paraffin, and wool alcohol gives soothing relief from symptoms such as pain, irritation, and a gritty feeling. These can be caused by insufficient tear production to keep the eye moist, as well as medical problems or therapy. The ointment also protects the eyeball, making it beneficial for patients who have recurrent corneal epithelial erosion.
Dosage & Administration
Apply a 1-1.5 cm ribbon of ointment to the afflicted eye(s) before retiring to bed, or as recommended by your doctor.
