Mebhydrolin Napadisylate
Indications
Allergic diseases or symptoms, such as urticaria, pruritus of various origin, eczema, drug rash, allergic dermatitis, hay fever, vasomotor rhinitis, asthma and other allergic reactions.
Pharmacology
Mebhydroline reduces or eliminates the main effects of histamine in the body by blocking histamine receptors.
Dosage & Administration
Adults and children over 10 years : 2-6 tablets daily in divided doses.
Children : 5 – 10 years : 2 – 4 tablets daily in divided doses.
2 – 5 years : 1 – 3 tablets daily in divided doses.
Up to 2 years : 1 – 2 tablets daily in divided doses.
Mebolin® may be swallowed during or immediately after meals. For children Mebolin® may be crashed and mixed with food.
Interaction
Mebhydroline can potentiate the effects of atropine and tricyclic antidepressants. It can mask the warning signs of damage caused by ototoxic drugs.
Contraindications
Patients should be advised not to use CNS depressants or alcohol concomitantly with Mebhydrolin. Mebhy-drolin should not be administered to patients in whom agranulocytosis or neutropenia have been reported previously.
Side Effects
Fatigue, dizziness, hypotension, muscle weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, upper abdominal pain, headache, blurred vision, tinnitus, depression, nightmares, anorexia, dry mouth, chest tightness, tingling, sedation, drowsiness, etc. May cause.
Pregnancy & Lactation
The safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been determined.
Precautions & Warnings
This substance may cause drowsiness. If affected, avoid driving or operating machinery and alcoholic beverages.
