Description
Indications of Lindamax Plus Gel
Clindamycin with Tretinoin gel is used to treat acne vulgaris on a topical basis.
Pharmacology of Lindamax Plus Gel
Clindamycin phosphate, a lincosamide antibiotic, is combined with Tretinoin, a retinoid. Clindamycin binds to the 50s ribosomal subunit of sensitive bacteria, preventing peptide chain elongation and decreasing bacterial protein synthesis by interfering with peptidyl transfer. Clindamycin lowers the occurrence of acne by inhibiting the activities of Propionibacterium acne. Tretinoin reduces the cohesion of follicular epithelial cells and enhances turn over, causing comedones to emerge.

When Clindamycin and Erythromycin are used together, the action of both drugs is reduced. Clindamycin should not be taken with Erythromycin at the same time.
