Pharmacology
Metronidazole, a nitroimidazole, has antibacterial and antiprotozoal properties. Nystatin is a type of polyene antibiotic that has antifungal properties. Neomycin is a type of aminoglycoside antibiotic. It’s bactericidal and works on both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other gram-negative bacteria are susceptible to polymyxin.
Dosage & Administration
For 12 days, place one suppository in the vaginal canal at bedtime or as directed by your doctor.
Interaction
Hypersensitivity to any of the drug’s components.
Contraindications
Patients who are hypersensitive to Metronidazole, Neomycin Sulphate, Polymyxin B Sulphate, or Nystatin should not take this medication.
Side Effects
Urticaria and skin rash are rare side effects.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy and lactation should be approached with caution.
Precautions & Warnings
If you have kidney disease, you should exercise caution.
