This medication is used to treat open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.
Pharmacology of Genazopt Plus Ophthalmic Suspension
There are a number of ways to reduce intraocular pressure (IOP), including decreasing aqueous fluid secretion in the eye’s eyelid ciliary processes.
In addition, Brimonidine Tartrate decreases IOP by decreasing aqueous humor generation and boosting uveoscleral outflow.
Dosage & Administration of Genazopt Plus Suspension
Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily. If more than one topical ophthalmic drug is being used, the drugs should be administered at least five minutes apart. Shake well before use.
Interactions of Genazopt Plus Ophthalmic Suspension
On rare occasions, high-dose salicylate therapy, antihypertensives/cardiac glycosides, tricyclic Antidepressants, and Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors have caused medication interactions in patients treated with this drop. Because of this, patients receiving Brinzolamide + Brimonidine Tartrate should be aware of the potential for such medication interactions.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients who have an allergy to Brinzolamide, Brimonidine Tartrate, or any other substance in the formulation (under the age of 2 years).
Side Effects of Genazopt Plus Ophthalmic Suspension
Blurred vision, eye irritation, unpleasant taste, and dry mouth are among the most commonly reported side effects of the drug.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Maternity C-category Pregnant ladies have not been adequately studied. When pregnant, the possible benefit of Brinzolamide and Brimonidine Tartrate ophthalmic suspension should be weighed against the potential risk to the fetus
Brinzolamide and Brimonidine Tartrate may be excreted in human milk, however, this is not known. Nursing mothers should use this ophthalmic fluid with caution.
Precautions & Warnings
Before using, shake well. Only for ophthalmological usage. Brinzolamide and Brimonidine Tartrate ophthalmic suspension should be injected into the eye, however, contact lenses can be reinserted 15 minutes later.

Storage Conditions
Preserve at room temperature and keep away from direct sunlight Dropper tip should not be touched to any surface. There should be no usage of the contents of the bottle for more than a month after the bottle has been opened. Be sure to thoroughly shake the product before using it, and do not freeze it.
