Description

Indications of Eyebet Eye Drop

After clinically ruling out bacterial, viral, or fungal infections, short-term treatment of sensitive steroids in ocular inflammation. Uninfected inflammation of the ear or nose.

Pharmacology of Eyebet Eye Drop

Corticosteroids bind to glucocorticoid receptors, inhibit pro-inflammatory signals, and promote anti-inflammatory signals. Betamethasone phosphate has a short effect because it is quickly hydrolyzed to betamethasone. Corticosteroids have a broad therapeutic window because patients may require multiple doses of substances naturally produced by the body. Patients taking corticosteroids should be informed of the risk of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression and increased susceptibility to infection.

Dosage & Administration of Eyebet Eye Drop

Eye: 1 or 2 drops to each affected eye every 1 or 2 hours until control is achieved, then the frequency may be reduced.
Ear: 2 or 3 drops to each affected ear every 2 or 3 hours until control is achieved, then the frequency may be reduced.
Note: 2 or 3 drops are instilled into each nostril 2 or 3 times daily.

Side Effects of Eyebet Eye Drop

Hypersensitivity reactions can occur causing irritation, burning, tingling, itching, and dermatitis. Topical use of corticosteroids can cause corneal ulcers, increased intraocular pressure, optic nerve damage, and decreased vision. Large amounts or long-term use of topical corticosteroids can lead to the formation of posterior subcapsular cataracts. In those diseases that cause thinning of the cornea or sclera, corticosteroid treatment can cause thinning of the eyeball, leading to perforation. After the use of corticosteroids in ophthalmology, dilated pupils, ptosis, and punctate epithelial keratitis have also been reported.

Pregnancy & Lactation

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies for pregnant women. Pregnant women should not use it in large quantities. No information is available if it is secreted in milk.

Precautions & Warnings

For undiagnosed red eyes, topical corticosteroids should not be given. Without regular examination to rule out increased intraocular pressure, cataract formation, or accidental infection, ophthalmic treatment with corticosteroid preparations should not be repeated or prolonged.
