Indications of Epinast 5 ml Ophthalmic Solution
Epinastine sterile ophthalmic solution is indicated for the treatment of signs and symptoms of allergic conditions of the anterior segment of the eye.
Pharmacology of Epinast 5 ml Ophthalmic Solution
Epinastine is a locally effective antihistamine that antagonizes histamine H1 and H2 receptors. In addition, it also has the effect of stabilizing mast cells and preventing the release of inflammatory mediators from blood vessels. Epinastine does not cross the blood-brain barrier, so it is not expected to have side effects on the central nervous system.
Dosage & Administration of Epinast 5 ml Ophthalmic Solution
Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated for patients who are allergic to epinastine or any of the ingredients in the preparation.
Side Effects of Epinast 5 ml Ophthalmic Solution
The most frequently reported side effects are mild burning sensation, folliculosis, hyperemia, pruritus, cold symptoms and upper respiratory infections.
Pregnancy & Lactation
There is no adequate and well-controlled study in pregnant women. Epinastine should only be used during pregnancy if the potential benefit poses a potential risk to the fetus. It is not clear whether Epistine passes into breast milk. Caution should be exercised when administering Epinastine to nursing mothers.
Precautions & Warnings
For ophthalmic use only. Patients should be advised not to wear contact lenses if their eye is red.

Storage Conditions
Store in a cool & dry place, protect from light. Do not use longer than one month after the first opening. Keep out of the reach of children.
