• Acute hemorrhoidal assaults are a kind of hemorrhoidal attack that occurs suddenly.
• Hemorrhoidal disease has been present for a long time.
• Heavy legs, discomfort, and nocturnal cramps are signs of organic and functional chronic venous insufficiency of the lower extremities.

Pharmacology

Diosmin and Hesperidin is a vascular protectants and phlebotomist medications. It enhances venous tone by extending parietal noradrenaline activity. As a result, Diosmin and Hesperidin reduce venous capacitance, distensibility, and emptying time.

Diosmin and Hesperidin protect the microcirculation by preventing microcirculation damage; it also fights venous inflammation by reducing leukocyte activation and, as a result, limiting the release of inflammatory mediators such as free radicals and prostaglandins. As a result, Diosmin and Hesperidin regulate capillary permeability while also increasing capillary resistance.

The lymphatic system is influenced by diosmin and hesperidin, which promotes lymphatic drainage by increasing lymph flow and lymph oncotic pressure.

Dosage

Diosmin 450 mg & Hesperidin 50 mg-

• Acute hemorrhoidal attacks: 3 tablets twice daily for the first 4 days, then 2 tablets twice daily for three days, and if required 1 tablet twice daily as a maintenance dosage.
• Chronic hemorrhoids: 1 tablet twice daily.
• Chronic venous insufficiency: 1 tablet twice daily initially for seven days. The duration may be increased depending on severity.

Diosmin 900 mg & Hesperidin 100 mg-

• Acute Hemorrhoid: 1 tablet thrice daily for first 4 days, followed by 1 tablet twice daily for 3 days & then 1 tablet once daily as a maintenance dose.
• Relapse of Internal Hemorrhoid & Chronic Hemorrhoid: 1 tablet once daily for 3 months.
• Chronic venous insufficiency: 1 tablet once daily for 2-6 months.
• Leg Wounds: 1 tablet once daily for 2 months.

Administration

Contraindications

A physician should identify chronic venous insufficiency and associated consequences, as well as monitor their care. It is not recommended for anyone who has a hypersensitivity to any of the product’s ingredients.

Side Effects

Routine gastrointestinal problems and neurovegetative diseases (discomfort) have been documented in a few situations. It is not necessary to stop treatment in these circumstances.

Pregnancy & Lactation

There has been no evidence of a teratogenic impact on animals in experimental investigations. So yet, no adverse effects in humans have been documented. Breast nursing is not suggested during therapy due to a lack of evidence on excretion into breast milk.

Precautions & Warnings

If the hemorrhoidal symptoms do not go away after 15 days, the patient should seek medical treatment. Diosmin (up to 900 mg/day) was given to a small group of breast cancer patients who were suffering from lymphedema as a result of surgical and nodal irradiation therapy, and it reduced arm edema but had no effect on the disease. When the components of Diosmin & Hesperidin are taken as advised, animal studies and more than 20 years of clinical usage in Europe have revealed no indication of carcinogenicity or mutagenicity. Because no particular studies have been done in this group, Diosmin & Hesperidin are not suggested for individuals with a history of cancer as a precaution.
