Indications of Dextrim 100 ml

This preparation is intended for the symptomatic treatment of upper respiratory tract problems associated with nonproductive cough that benefit from the use of a nasal decongestant, a histamine H1-receptor antagonist, and an antitussive combination.

Pharmaceutical Name of Dextrim 100 ml

Beximco Pharma Ltd

This medication is a combination of an antitussive, a decongestant, and an antihistamine. Dextromethorphan is a non-narcotic antitussive drug that acts centrally on the cough center in the medulla. Although chemically similar to Morphine, it lacks analgesic and habit-forming effects and has minimal sedative action in general. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that causes blood vessels in the nose canal to constrict. It is used to relieve nasal and sinus congestion, as well as congested tubes that drain fluid from the inner ear. Triprolidine offers symptomatic alleviation in disorders thought to be caused entirely or partially by the triggered release of histamine.
