Pharmacology of Dexogut Capsule
Dexlansoprazole extended-release capsules are a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that inhibits gastric acid secretion by specifically inhibiting ATPase (H+/K+) in gastric parietal cells. By acting specifically on the proton pump, Dexlansoprazole blocks the final stage of acid production. It is the Renantiomer of lansoprazole (A raxemic mixture of R and Senantiomer). Dexlansoprazole is supplied as a slow-release dual-release (DDR) formulation in a capsule for oral administration. This capsule contains a mixture of two enteric coated granules with different pH-dependent dissolution profiles. Dual delayed release formulation in dexlansoprazole, plasma concentration time profiles with two distinct peaks; The first peak occurs 1 to 2 hours after administration, followed by a second peak within 4 to 5 hours. After oral administration, the mean Cmax and AUC values of Dexlansoprazole increased in proportion to the dose. Dexlansoprazole is extensively metabolized in the liver and excreted in the urine.
