Indications of Cyporin 5 ml Eye Drop

Cyporin 5 ml Eye Drop is used to boost tear production in patients with dry eye syndrome whose tear production is thought to be reduced due to ocular inflammation (keratoconjunctivitis sicca).

Furthermore, cyclosporine has been shown to be effective in the treatment of a variety of eye diseases, including vernal keratoconjunctivitis, posterior blepharitis, non-infectious uveitis, superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis, phlyctenular keratoconjunctivitis, and meibomian gland diseases in several clinical studies.

Pharmacology of Cyporin 5 ml Eye Drop

When given systemically, cyclosporine suppresses the immune system. Topical Cyclosporine is hypothesized to serve as a partial immunomodulator in patients whose tear production is inhibited due to ocular inflammation associated with keratoconjunctivitis sicca.

Cyporin 5 ml Eye Drop Dosage and Administration

One drop of Cyclosporine eye drop should be instilled twice a day in each eye approximately 12 hours apart. Cyclosporine eye drop can be used concomitantly with artificial tears, allowing a 15-minute interval between products.

Cyclosporine should not be used in patients who have active ocular infections or who have a known or suspected hypersensitivity to any of the formulation’s constituents.

Cyporin 5 ml Eye Drop Side Effects

Ocular burning was the most common side effect. Conjunctival hyperemia, discharge, epiphora, eye pain, foreign body sensation, itching, stinging, and vision impairment were among the other symptoms mentioned (most often blurring).

Pregnancy & Lactation

Cyclosporine Ophthalmic Emulsion has not been studied in pregnant women insufficient and well-controlled research. If plainly needed, it should be given to pregnant women.

Lactation: Cyclosporine is known to be excreted in human milk after systemic dosing, but no research has been done on its excretion in human milk after topical treatment. Although blood concentrations of Cyclosporine eye drops are undetectable following topical administration, caution should be exercised when administering Cyclosporine to a breastfeeding woman.

Precautions & Warnings

While wearing contact lenses, cyclosporine eye drops should not be used. Contact lenses should not be worn by patients who have diminished tear production. If you’re wearing contact lenses, you should take them out before using this mixture. Lenses can be reinserted 15 minutes after the Cyclosporine eye drop has been administered.
