Indications

This cream is suitable for the quick relief of minor muscle and joint pain, such as simple back pain, arthritis, strains, bruises, and sprains.

Pharmacology

This cream is a specially formulated methyl salicylate, menthol, and camphor cream. Penetrates skin to quickly relieve pain and stiffness from mild arthritis and muscle aches. Reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in inflamed tissues. Methyl salicylate has been shown to have first-pass metabolism in the skin and rapidly hydrolyze salicylate to release active salicylate in the epidermis and dermis. When menthol is applied to the skin, it will increase the penetration of the drug, thus accelerating the effect. It dilates blood vessels, causes a feeling of cold, and then has analgesic effect. Camphor is a stimulant used locally to increase local blood flow and as an “anti-stimulant” to reduce pain and swelling. When combined with other ingredients such as menthol and methyl salicylate, it becomes an ideal choice for treating neuralgia and other painful areas.

Dosage & Administration

Adults and children (12 years of age and older): Apply to the affected areas not more than 3 to 4 times daily.

Children under 12 years of age: Use on advice of a physician.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to salicylate or any of its ingredients.

Side Effects

Redness or irritation may occur, especially in persons with sensitive skin.

This medicine should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings

For external use only. Do not use

• on wounds or damaged skin
• and heating pad
• in children under 12 years of age with joint inflammation.
