Pharmacology of Betapro 5 Tablet
Bisoprolol hemifumarate is the most selective ß1 blocker. Compared to any other beta-blocker available to date, it has the highest affinity for ß1 receptors. It selectively blocks β1 adrenergic receptors in the heart and vascular smooth muscle, reduces heart rate and cardiac output, resulting in a reduction in arterial hypertension .In patients using non-selective β1 blockers, β blockers may have an adverse effect on lipid metabolism, but bisoprolol will not cause any change in cholesterol during long-term treatment, including cardioprotective HDL cholesterol.
