Indications of Bet-A 15 Cream

Betamethasone Valerate cream or ointment is indicated for the treatment of-

  • Eczema in children and adults including atopic
  • Infantile and discoid eczema
  • Prurigo nodularis
  • Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis)
  • Neurodermatitis including lichen simplex and lichen planus
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Contact sensitivity reaction
  • Discoid lupus erythematosus may be used as an adjunct to systemic steroid therapy in generalized erythroderma.

Pharmacology of Bet-A 15 Cream

Betamethasone Valerate BP is a glucocorticoid adrenocorticosteroid that is synthesized. It’s a prednisolone analog with a smidgeon of mineral corticosteroid action.   • Viral infections of the skin, e.g. herpes simplex & chicken pox.
  • Primary infected skin lesions are caused by fungi or bacteria.
  • Dermatoses in children under one year of age.

Side Effects of Bet-A 15 Cream

Dryness, itching, burning, skin thinning, local irritation, signs of hypercortisolism, telangiectasia, striae, and skin atrophy are more common with high doses, long-term use, and the use of occlusive dressings of Cream/Ointment.
