Indications of Acemox 250

Acemox 250 is used to treat open-angle glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and edema and epilepsy as an adjuvant.

Pharmaceutical Name of Acemox 250

ACME Laboratories Ltd

Acetazolamide inhibits carbonic anhydrase. This enzyme catalyzes a reversible process in which carbon dioxide is hydrated and carbonic acid is dehydrated. Acetazolamide’s inhibitory action in the eye reduces aqueous humor secretion and lowers intraocular pressure, which is a desired reaction in the case of glaucoma. Carbonic anhydrase inhibition in the central nervous system appears to prevent aberrant paroxysmal and excessive discharge from CNS neurons. As a result, acetazolamide is also utilized as an epilepsy adjuvant.
